What the buyer needed
A mixed order of aluminium and stainless steel sheet metal parts that between them require bending, laser cutting and stamping. Orders that span several processes are where single-source manufacturing earns its keep: the alternative is three suppliers, three shipments and three sets of tolerances that have to agree at assembly.
How we made it
With six production lines under one roof, the parts were routed to the process each one suited rather than being forced through a single method. Flat profiles were cut on a 12,000 W fibre laser for speed and edge quality; formed parts went to CNC press brakes; parts at higher volume moved onto stamping where the tooling cost is justified by the quantity. Aluminium and stainless were kept on separate handling paths to avoid cross-contamination of the stainless surface.
At a US$0.35–0.55 listing unit price, the economics only work if the process choice per part is right — a part that should be stamped but is laser cut, or vice versa, is where margin quietly disappears.
