In product development, hardware engineers face a recurring bottleneck: getting high-fidelity metal prototypes quickly without committing to expensive production tooling. Waiting weeks for hard tooling just to test form, fit, and function can derail your entire launch schedule.

Low volume sheet metal prototyping bridges this gap. By utilizing soft tooling, universal press brake dies, and high-speed CNC laser cutting, we eliminate upfront tooling charges, allowing you to iterate designs rapidly and cost-effectively.

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Why Low-Volume Runs Require No MOQ

Traditional stamping factories rely on massive volume to amortize the cost of progressive dies. For quantities under 500 units, this setup is financially non-viable. Our rapid prototyping workflow bypasses hard tooling entirely.

Whether you need a single proof-of-concept bracket or a pre-production run of 50 aluminum chassis, our CNC-driven process treats small batches with the same precision as mass production. This “No MOQ” flexibility allows EV startups, medical device developers, and aerospace engineers to validate their hardware with minimal capital risk.

Material Selection: Aluminum 6061-T6 vs. 5052-H32

When prototyping structural components, material temper dictates the fabrication method.

  • Aluminum 5052-H32: The gold standard for sheet metal bending. It offers excellent formability, a tight bend radius without cracking, and great weldability.

  • Aluminum 6061-T6: Highly desirable for its superior mechanical strength and structural rigidity (as shown in precision-machined hybrid sheet metal parts). However, 6061-T6 is brittle; bending it along a sharp radius risks immediate fracturing.

When your design demands 6061-T6, our engineers calculate the precise factor modifications and implement larger bend radii, or combine CNC machining with sheet metal forming to achieve the desired geometry without compromising structural integrity.

Eliminating the Friction of Overseas Sourcing

The biggest hesitation Western procurement managers have with overseas manufacturing is communication and quality drift. Jiacheng addresses this by providing full transparency:

  1. Clear DFM Reports: If a bend relief is missing or a flange is too short for our press brake dies, we don’t just reject the drawing

  2. First Article Inspection (FAI): For low-volume batches, we provide detailed dimensional inspection reports using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) before shipping.

  3. Reliable Logistics: All prototypes are packed in custom foam-lined crates and shipped via express air (DHL/FedEx/UPS), arriving at your facility in Europe or North America within 3-5 days.

Accelerate your development cycle. Upload your 3D design files now to get a dedicated engineer assigned to your low-volume project.
